It is essentially regular butter infused with cannabinoids extracted from cannabis plants which is used for medicinal and therapeutic effects. The general guide for making hash butter, which is an infused butter ideal for use in edibles is here. Always remember to dose responsibly and comply with local laws regarding cannabis use.
How to make hash butter
To make hash butter, start by gathering your ingredients and equipment, including cannabis, unsalted butter, water, and a saucepan or double boiler. Begin by decarboxylating the cannabis, a process that activates its psychoactive compounds, by baking it in an oven at 115 120°C (240 250°F) for about 30 40 minutes.
Ingredients
1 gram of hash (adjust based on desired potency)
1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup water
Instructions
1. Decarboxylate the Hash
Preheat your oven to 240°F (115°C).
Break the hash into small pieces and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake for 30 to 40 minutes to activate the THC(Tetrahydrocannabinol).
2. Prepare the Butter Base
In a saucepan, combine the butter and water over a low heat flame. The water prevents the butter from burning during the infusion process.
3. Add the Decarboxylated Hash
Stir the hash into the melted butter-water mixture.
Simmer on low heat, do not let it boil, for 2 to 3 hours, stirring occasionally.
4. Strain the Mixture
Line a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth over a bowl or container. Pour the mixture through it to remove any solids.
Let the strained butter cool at room temperature, then refrigerate until solid.
5. Separate the Butter from the Water
Once the butter solidifies, it will separate from the water. Remove the solid butter and discard the water.
Storage
Store the hash butter in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks or freeze it for longer usage.
